Spam adalah penyalahgunaan dalam pengiriman berita elektronik untuk menampilkan berita iklan dan keperluan lainnya yang mengakibatkan ketidaknyamanan bagi para pengguna situs web Bentuk spam yang umum meliputi: email spam, pesan instan spam, newsgroup spam, spam web search engine, spam blog, spam berita pada ponsel, spam forum internet dan lain lain.
Spam ini biasanya datang bertubi-tubi tanpa diminta dan seringkali tidak dikehendaki oleh penerimanya. Spam dikirimkan oleh pembuat iklan dengan biaya operasi yang sangat rendah, karena spam ini tidak memerlukan mailing list untuk mencapai para pelanggan yang diinginkan.
Sebagai pengguna email, masalah spam adalah masalah klasik dan terus menghantui para pengguna email di jagat internet apalagi bagi seorang Admin Mail Server, sudah dipastikan banyak sekali komplain dan cercaan dari pengguna email akibat banyaknya spam yang masuk ke inbox mereka.
Banyak cara menuju Roma. Banyak juga metode yang digunakan untuk melawan spam ini. Ada yang menggunakan jasa perusahaan anti spam seperti Norton, ada juga yang menginstall anti spam di Mail Server menggunakan ClamAv atapun SpamAssasin.
Kali ini kita akan membahas bagaimana memanfaatkan situs DSBL untuk membantu melawan spam. Memang hasilnya tidak mungkin bersih total, tapi sejauh ini kinerja DSBL sangat efektif.
DSBL sendiri merupakan situs-situs yang mendaftar mail server yang terpasang sebagai open relay ataupun open proxy. Jadi hati-hati jika Mail Server Anda satu mesin dengan open relay dan open proxy kemungkinan besar akan terindex oleh DSBL, akibatnya anda tidak dapat mengirimkan email ke user dimana terpasang antispam dari DSBL.
Kali ini, fitur DSBL akan kita pasang di Mail Server yang menggunakan Postfix.
Pertama-tama buka terlebih dahulu file konfigurasi postfix yang kita miliki dengan menggunakan Vi Editor dengan user root atau pada posisi super user:
root# vi /etc/posfix/main.cf
Kemudian pada akhir baris kita tambahkan beberapa konfigurasi dibawah ini :
smtpd_recipient_restrictions =
permit_mynetworks,
permit_sasl_authenticated,
reject_unauth_destination,
reject_invalid_hostname,
reject_unauth_pipelining,
reject_non_fqdn_sender,
reject_unknown_sender_domain,
reject_non_fqdn_recipient,
reject_unknown_recipient_domain,
reject_rbl_client blackholes.easynet.nl,
reject_rbl_client proxies.blackholes.wirehub.net,
reject_rbl_client bl.spamcop.net,
reject_rbl_client sbl.spamhaus.org,
reject_rbl_client dnsbl.njabl.org,
reject_rbl_client list.dsbl.org,
reject_rbl_client multihop.dsbl.org,
permit
Setelah itu kita simpan file konfigurasi kita dan restart posfix kita.
root# /etc/init.d/postfix restart
Kemudian perhatikan log email anda
root# tail -f /var/log/mail.log
Kelemahan dari cara ini adalah mail server butuh selalu terkoneksi dengan situs DSBL untuk update terbaru dan bahkan setiap ada email masuk harus melakukan pengecekan apakah terdaftar sebagai blacklist atau tidak.
